Is it just me or does this novel feel somewhat like Toaru Majutsu no Index? The main character's personality reminds me a lot of Touma. 1q145p
And even Amakusa Touma's name seems like an homage.

you cannot compare the anime with novels! it's a shame that index anime version was so violated. (havn't watched campione because i am too scared the same thing will happen)
though, i it their personality are pretty much alike. on the other hand, this kind of personality isn't that rarely seen in mangas/novels.
