I think one of the biggest mistakes Tite did was not give Kenpashi more "screen" time. He is clearly one of the most baddass (if not the most baddass) character in Bleach however he has almost no character development (like many other characters I have to say).

But I sure was glad to see him make his presence noticed 😛

don't get your hopes up, from what we've seen so far it's likely that kenpachi will defeat the current enemy and then get K.O in one move by the next one.

Oh he will make a comeback after the ko move, Kubo likes doing that, either good or bad guy KO's someone then they make a comeback when we think it is over.

Nope, Kempachi will not fight the current enemy. However he will "cheer-up" Yachiru and hopefully we will see another badass Bankai since Kempachi's Division is full of badasness. Why? Because Yachiru is the one below Kempachi and we have seen some hints that she has power, plus she has a weird Shikai or whatever it is last couple of chapters.
Well, I might expect too much but this is how I would set up next chapter.
