Amazon.jp has the first volume of the series already in tankoubon, and Tanaka Yutaka's website talks (in Japanese) about it. It is most definitely a series now and I dearly wish someone would scanlate this thing.

Actually, I intend to make a separate entry for the series, which seems to be subtitled in english on the raws I DLed, "Tales of Mimia Hime". Seems to be a problem with the system, though...
