I know but you could always make the brought up custom list, it´s an entirely different medium after all, and then sort "By Latest Release". MU has more functionalities and customization options than a lot of professional database softwares... 1bo2y

I'm glad this has been added, but I am seeing one thing that's a drawback for me to be able to use it.
If anybody can/somebody tell me if I'm wrong/if there's a way to get around this......that's fine, I really do want to filter out Novel releases.....but when I do select to filter them out (or filter out any of the options for that matter), I also no longer see the really "new" releases (i.e. those that don't have a page yet is how it appears to me to be working, those that are denoted by the "[Add]" beside the entry) on the new release page.
The thing with that is, that I really want to see those (not the novels of course, but pretty much all the rest), not to mention that those types of works (oneshots that won't have a page until I submit them to be approved for one) are mainly what I'm scanlating and reporting here.........so yeah, if I filter out the Novels, I then have to change my settings to see those releases also, along with, when I report a release of my own, and then have to access it from the releases page in order to submit it for a series page.
Any ideas about this? Or just don't use the filtering at all or just resign myself to having to look at the release page twice, once with the filter on and once with it off so I can see if I'm missing those that are reported as releases but don't have a page?

If you only want to filter the releases page, use this link to access it:
https://mangaupdates.sitesdebloques.com/releases.html?exclude_type=Novel
Everything else should be business as normal.
EDIT: Not sure why the site is adding a space after the "o" in novel... I guess just click on the link and don't copy and paste it.

Yes, thank you, I do already have that link.....and it indeed does the exact same thing. If you look closely you'll notice it too...
from that link...

and from the normal, unfiltered releases page...

You see what I mean? How the two with [add] aren't reflecting, even though only the novels have been filtered?

So yeah, that link really doesn't change what i'm talking about, the filter is filtering more than just what it's supposed to be filtering. Again, maybe there's no way this can be avoided........I don't know, that's why I'm bringing it up 🙂

Good God!
I was checking this out and when I went to release filtering i see my usual filtered check boxes and see yaoi and shonen ai filtered. Thats fine but then I see one of my highlights and i see HAREM checked. How did this happen? I never would never filter out harem. The months worth of harem I missed.

Thank you so much! I had resorted to hide groups who only translated novels, but they kept popping up, and there's always the risk of these groups releasing manga as well! And now I can filter out Manhua as well. This is really gold.

lol that's my exact settings. I have only those 2 checked off also. and I have hentai highlighted in pink just in case so I don't accidently click on it in a nsfw situation >_<
Wish novels was on that list. then id just have them highlighted in Blue (since Blue = Smart)

I feel really dumb, but where do I go to set this filter for new releases?

If you scroll up while you're in the forums, there will be a link to "edit profile" in the top right hand corner. That's where you set the filter. It's under the heading of "types to hide."
(And, yeah, I missed it the first time around too. It's kind of non-intuitively placed.)

The easiest way is to go to on the right side menu. You'll see, "edit profile," in it.

Thank you both for the help! 😀
Filtering novels really slimmed down the series listed on the releases page for me. This is a great feature.
