I did once! I went as Azure Kite and my sister went as Haseo. Lets just say... I was too "cute." 391a3a

I have no interest in cosplay whatsoever. The way I see it, cosplaying is about identifying with a character to the point that you feel one with them. I don't think I've ever seen a person in a work of fiction who resembles me in any way other than superficially.
And as for cross-gender cosplay... I'm pretty sure no straight guy worth his salt would cosplay as a woman, but there are probably plenty of girls (though not all) who don't mind dres as guys. If I were the type to cosplay, I know I wouldn't mind portraying a male character.

I agreed to dress as a girl as part of a group costume, though that fell through. I don't think I could do one that shows a lot of leg. I'm rather hairy and I don't want to be that guy.

I spend a lot of time and money on cosplay, but I have never cosplayed as the opposite gender. Cosplaying a lot of fun, but I could never identify with a male character enough to cosplay as them. Most of my favourite characters are male though.
I'm surprised the number of people who cosplay are so low. Whenever I go to conventions, it's brimming with people. I didn't realize it was such a small fraction of the community.

It's surprisingly few because cosplaying is such an expensive hobby. I personally want to cosplay because it seems like such an exciting activity, to dress up and mimic a character. However, I can put the effort into acting like a character, but alas, I have no money to afford the apparel. Money is probably the second largest reason why people don't cosplay, just behind disinterest in dres as a character. Conventions are also quite expensive, so most people who go there likely have enough in their wallet to get their costumes. That's my opinion 😃

I am an avid cosplayer and specifically save up extra money for materials and such to cosplay. Though I have been doing it for 5 years I have yet to crossplay but I will eventually. I have a list of characters I want to cosplay and half of them are male so its's basically that I haven't gotten around to cosplaying them yet.

I don't think there is a problem to cosplay the opposite gender as that isn't much of a stigma for girls to be tomboys but of course, that is if I did cosplay. I've never thought of doing it.
