WN, 405, Strong Until It Meanders

I get that the LN is a more polished version of the WN, so I won't go into the nitty-gritty but will stick to the larger brushstrokes which won't have changed. And the long story short of that is the author, at some point between 305 and 405, has stopped advancing the plot to focus on filler after filler after filler.

These chapters used to be organized as side-chapters, but now they're part of the main story flow and, quite frankly, a lot of it is stuff I would only want to read after getting further along in the plot. A lot more people just want to skip them.

This is because filler chapters don't advance the plot while still having the weaknesses that the plot made bearable:

Far too much focus on characters' thoughts in the narration to the point of repetition
Needlessly poetic language used that, in translation to English, makes it a difficult read, leading to...
Poorly understood character motivations, especially with the main character.

To be clear, there's still some good things, including the author giving other characters their own separate (from the MC) romances. This is a breath of fresh air in of ideas—though the execution is lacking those times in the WN in ways I feel like the LN will follow.

There are a few of these breath of fresh air ideas. But these side stories are so prevalent without a payoff that I struggle to understand why the author included them.

Why do we get the struggles of the former guild receptionist if she's not going to become a central character or get married to a central character?

Why do we get an assassin who exists solely to train up a side character to other side characters?

Why do the interesting side characters that we like not get development on the level of these side-of-side characters?

I don't know, it's frustrating, and I've only been reading this for a couple of months. I can't imagine the disappointment and frustration for those reading who have followed this story for years only to keep getting what must feel like bait and switch chapters over and over and over and over.

I can definitely recommend this story until about chapter 305-310

when Makoto actually takes Tomoe and Mio to bed in the romantic sense.

But after that... ugh, there's only one serious plot advamcement buried in there. Well, good news is by then you'll have an understanding of whether you want to continue or not and won't need this review.

There's potential for this series, as I've actually wasted my time reading chapters around 100, but sadly the MC sort of ruins the entire series. The MC is OP and a complete idiot, which isn't something I'm against, but I think it's hard to do it well in a novel, especially in this series. The author writes the MC as an idiot, but then later tries to make him sound like he's the smartest person to ever live, dumbing every other character in the series down in the process. Seriously, the author writes the MC to say or think of something completely stupid in one moment, then in the next moment, the author tries to make the MC say or think of something completely profound. Many chapters where the MC isn't narrating, I find are the best chapters. The reason being is, that it doesn't seem like the incoherent babble of an idiot trying to sound smart. The chapters that usually gain my interest are the Gossip chapters, as they're written in third-person, and you're not struggling to understand what's happening. Honestly, many of the other characters are a lot better, even the douchey hero. At least the douchey hero understands that the women around him are interested in him.

If the author actually wrote the whole series in third-person, I believe this series would be a lot better, A LOT BETTER.

The story isnt bad and the character individuality is well-made but it kind of lacks the depth compared to the LN or famous manga .Something like philosophy or ideal that strike deep into the heart of reader.

I'm conflicted. I really like the idea of summon people to other worlds with fantasy setting but the ones the japanese write are almost all exactly alike. MC is too powerful or has just about everything working for him in his favor. The relationships are ....annoying. Everyone is so bent on being polite but its an extreme politeness. It's kind of boring reading a chapter and half of it being 'sama', and 'please let me serve you' and 'thank you for letting me serve you' and what not.

The writing is kind of haphazard and seems to float around too much like as if the writer writes everything he is thinking in the same fashion that a person jumps from subject to subject in their day dreams.

The author does a good job of fleshing out the world but this OP MC just isn't that compelling. I wouldn't say he is a complete moron but he is pretty slow on the uptake. He mostly learns from his mistakes but he makes a crap ton of them, even when given clear warnings ahead of time.

Thankfully, the cast around him generally are more competent and the antagonists are well developed. The author is pretty good at making villains and weaving nefarious plots into the story.

Harem - idiot MC collecting girls

That's all this novel is actually about. A moron of a MC collecting monster girls.

But even as a harem male lead he is just too pathetic. He's pretty much everyone's bitch, being pushed around by girls like a rag.

I wasted a few hours of my life reading this piece of crap. Unless you're one of those weeabos who get off from this kind of things, don't read.

the webnovel suffer from writer's ineptitude. If I am the editor, I won't let this title get published before the author delete half of his musing and retold half of his story. I wish to read the lightnovel version.

The idea of this novel is good but the story is.. crappy, for example : the story said something XXX is good, great.. and then few line later he said this thing is bad like if he never said that is good previously, it's always bad.. In short it's always contradicting and there have many chapters about that. By the way Author is bad on jokes.. it's monotone, no joking sense at all. I get the same feeling that in the novel Slave Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World (the famous novel where many guys use MT to translate and how they sullied this novel), it's like if MTL erased the exciting part of the novel.

When he loses his sense of reasoning he will fucking go badass! He is so badass that chills don't go away! Btw not weak and wimpy like most mcs are when cornered and such. He's a guy that wants more info before acting and yeah at times he can be naive but hell his contracted partners are there to make it fun!

Neither bad nor great. With the translated chapters (ch25) so far, the story is just building up as it should be.

Spoiler below, read at your own fault.

first off; the web novel web site link: Anything that on the "Light Novel" with the current volumes 7, the author/writer took those portion off the web novel web site and leaving only a short summary and/or a portion of chapter within those volumes. Anything that not in the "Light Novel" volumes yet are still there.

I try to read ahead using "google translated" on the raw, but since the writer did the thing I mention above, I understand the guise of what going happen and what happen in those volumes in those story. And thereafter after volumes that yet to be in the light novel yet.

Spoiler up to the at least the newest raw on the web novel:
MC: Males
Ages: Teen
Level: same as always (not going change ever)
Job: Suppose to be the Hero when summon by the goddesse (aka bug) by another world.
Contract: Three (you should already know the 2 of them since they are already in translated chapters up to ch25)

Found this link for the web novel, the current links is the the same data as the one in the Description box. The differences is that this is an "archive" that you can click the years on the up right corner to change to the time when the writer did not take down the chapters or summarize the chapter yet. I should read those chapter as well, maybe.
