Chapter 20 best chapters so far
Never mind chapter 21 ruins it
I hate how Mc has literally sex on his mind 24/7 and I hate how he gets fucking blinded by women and easily gets tricked by them.
OK chapter somewhere between chapter 55_69 he becomes less horny and more bearable, I really hope he stays not horny and actually learn from his mistakes, like for example not trusting junko because she will backstabbing him in the end. Evidence being the countless times he has been swindled by her, and all that due to his horniness
I'll it one thing, which is this manga is addicting to read. Despite its shortcomings, I still find myself reading the next chapter. Despite being frustrated, I still am reading the next chapter hoping the Mc learns from his mistakes( which so far he doesnt) Atchison point I'm skimming in order to get to the point where he legitimately learns from his mistakes

If you like manga where it does not take itself way too seriously. You will most likely like this manga. I expected it to be serious but it is not

Om I dropped this manga, I just can't force myself to read this. I personally don't like this manga,.

I found this back in 2009 I think, and I liked it instantly mostly because of the art: I love old shool complex ink work, especially when something Shirow-y sneaks up here and there, but that's not just it.

I'd just simply say that if you dig dystopian, anti-hero, post-apo theme, give this one a shot, but let me rant for a minute. Sunabouzu is Bulletstorm all over - great characters, great setting, specific humor but still enjoyable atmosphere that leave you wanting more.

The story was a bit hard to get through the first tome. I do love character driven stories (what Sunabouzu mostly is), but it starts a bit too juvenile to my taste, and while anime was pretty embarrassing to watch, I'd wonder if that's really the manga it was based on. Something ticked when Kosuna appeared and suddenly I found myself craving for more chapters. Waited two years.

My favorite things:

a sidekick that learns. Regardless the reasons why the MC ever decided to take this particular apprentice, Koizumi is a small blessing of these series, and my favorite character.
the author doesn't bombard you with too much distracting info, there's no central plot right until late chapters, and story is split to chunks that later interweave, but the storytelling is solid within those parts, and can do pretty well as separate tales, generally, MC takes jobs. Some are rewarding, some he will regret taking.
MC is petty. He's a bastard and he knows it. There's no special reason, no sob story of harsh childhood, he's just a selfish turd that makes a living as a handyman on a desert. His tenacity is something almost to ire. But he's not always a winner and not without weaknesses, and, well, thanks to this we got Koizumi.
everyone else is petty too, there's no black and white here. It's typical for the genre, but I found this easier to stomach the way Usune portraits his world. He spares you blood and gore (as someone fussy about this and how her favorite female characters get treated I REALLY MEAN THIS), but focuses on people. And guns. It's a nice touch that he selects equipment according to the harsh environment it's used in.

I don't know if this is gonna convince you, but I spent long years waiting, wishing for Usune to get better, and my heart dies a little knowing that the series aren't licensed in English, and we might face another - great, but underappreciated title - dropped.

This series is a masterpiece. As other people have pointed out as a detriment, it is indeed a depiction of the depths to which humans can sink and the rarity of true kindness. The juxtaposition of comedic elements raises both the observations of human nature and the base humor to new heights, which one might compare in spirit to the "tragicomedy" of Waiting for Godot. Everyone is miserable. Everything is played for laughs.

The art and stuff is really good too.

As you can see by looking below alot of ppl like it cause they like a fresh new manga compared to usual morals like other mangas...now if you know me, I do morals, the only reason I really like the manga cause it's funny as hell, and you can learn a thing or to about guns.

It's a perfect read if you like to shun out morals, and bust ya nut to depravity(like most teens that read manga), or just want a good laugh, I don't recommend it if you like your morals, cause I warn you now....everyone...in this manga does everything for themselves....except Stryker, he's a nice guy thou....

So I give this a 6

Sunabozu is an interesting character.
He survives on skill, clever tactics and unconventional weaponry.
He also has a self involved survivors personality which is different.
The humor may seem crude and the MC unlikable but these factors combined with the other elements make a fresh read.
Unfortunately, self centered amoral male characters aren't publicly accepted. If Sunabozu was female this series would have a much higher rating like Black Lagoon or Jormungand .

Damn! I like Anti-hero manga, and this one add my collection series. For Alphagulp, well, you read this series too deep man (and too early to judge I guess). Wicked and twisted is just the outer shell of the MC, just like I judge this series based on the art first (really, I think this series is an ancient manga). I dont really like the art, but the plot and twist really overwhelmed the lack... and the character? Well, very realistic and anti-hero-ed... (really great combination)

In brief, I cant wait to see how the story goes on...

I always like these GUNMM-like post-apoc dystopian worlds in manga. Maybe there's something about the Japanese take on it, but I love these things, and am not too fussed about the Western iterations like Fallout. Then again, I may not like Fallout because of the 1960's Americana themes. Doesn't matter here anyway.

One of those seinen about a gun-for-hire/mercenary types, set in a post-apoc Japan, which is now a massive desert for some reason.

And it's kinda great. Pretty original aesthetic and art to it, or just familiar to old school seinen fans maybe. It's hard to pin down what I like about it so much, but I suspect it's how a lot of stock pieces of storytelling came together pretty neatly. A main character who uses mind games and dirty tricks instead of brawn or pure intellect is almost always refreshing when you come across them, since they're fairly rare. A main character who's also a right depraved piece of work - that you still root for, for some kind of "he's the underdog here" logic - reminds me of Yongbi in that way to be honest, although Yongbi isn't an underdog, he's just awesome and hilarious.

And this I think is the main success of the manga. It's very funny. The fights are funny, because Desert Punk outwits his opponents in the most humiliating of ways, and sometimes vice versa. The parts of the story are funny, because Desert Punk's terrible, terrible personality comes to the surface and some hilarious reaction or insult will ensue. It's also satisfying to see a piece of work like him get into trouble once in a while because of his innately humongous greed.

The stories are all pretty fantastic too - mostly little standalone arcs revolving around different jobs - so far (around vol 7/chapter 37) - with a cast of a few recurring characters who are just about as funny and despicably "look out for no.1" as the main character is. It's an extremely dog-eat-dog setting, and we just don't have too many things in that vein, so I like it for being a fresh wind as well.

As for the "This manga tries to convince you that the most logical approach to life is to have ZERO EMPATHY for others, that being a psychopath is normal and desirable" way of looking at the manga - just no. Seriously no. This manga tries to entertain, often by pushing hard at the borders of acceptability (welcome to seinen, we have cookies) and with black humour. And ecchi, one must it. Again, welcome to seinen. Not every story is a morality play or tries to teach a lesson about how to live life. Some are out to provide escapism and entertainment only, and that's basically what you should be looking for here.

And I think it achieves that pretty damn well.

I wish someone would scanlate this. Its an ok Manga but much better as an Anime. The story picks up when they get to the Underground Movement (Anime) which is yet to be reached in scanlation releases.

The action, plot, and wit are all quality, but what makes Sunabozu unique are its characters.
90% of them are pure selfish !!!holes, including the main character. It's pretty much a "either you like or you don't" thing, but I'd still reccommend it to anyone.
