If you're on the hunt for forced relationship stories. . .

. . . this one isn't a meal, but it is a satisfying coffee break.

I like this type of capture, force and bad-guy-is-the-hero scenario, so I'm rating and reviewing from a bit of a biased perspective.

Riichi is a believable character in that he lives an everyday life, but due to his high IQ, craves release from the boredom of his life. He has an extreme solution with choosing thrills like bank robbery, rape and another's life in his hands. He is selfish in his 'use' of his captive, but the captive finds that he can relate to this vivid man.

Akiba-sensei has captured both my sense and sensibilities. Sense: My thoughts immediately understood and could relate to the concept of someone showing another that their previous existence was missing so much, that there is more vitality and unseen, unexplored horizons of emotion and thought to life and relationships. Senses: the artwork is loose and flowy and pretty. Not outstanding and a little too super-deformed for my taste, but still easy on the eyes. The sex scenes were never really explicitly creative, violent or bloody.

The one scene that was memorable was when the captive reached out to pull Riichi down for a kiss, while he was choking him = very dramatic choice of moments delivered.

I've read much more captivating and long-term memorable, quality captive stories, but this one is certainly worth checking out if you want a quick read and like this type of scenario. It may not make you squeal and repeat to others with exclamations of delight, but it isn't a waste of time invested either.

I can somewhat see where the author was going with this, but they really failed to flesh anything out. Like the description says, it is Stockholm Syndrome to an extreme, but there isn't much else about it that I can say because there isn't much of a plot. The art is pretty typical, the men are a bit girly looking and there are sparkles, regular shoujo-esque features. If you like rape/hostage situations that turn into love you'll really like this one. Otherwise you can probably live without it.
