so what is so good about this anime? is the romance epically good or the story has a deep message or something? i read a couple chapters of it and its pretty funny but i dont understand why everyone loves this series so much 4n5fv

Manga That Needs More Attention: S Senjou no Tena
It's a comedy... for mature audiences. It's not all about the romance. Even though it says shounen, I think it should be classified as seinen due to its content. I think people mainly read it for the comedy/randomness factor.
Well, people like different things. And it seems you're not one of the ones who like this series. Is it so bad that other people really like NHK and you don't?

Pretty sure the hype was always over the manga anyway, not the anime.

Only saw the anime and I didn't perceive any particular hype about this series. The ratings are more or less balanced as well, +10 just barely being the most voted. Neither over- nor underrated. Also, I've never seen an obsessed fanboy for this.
