Is anyone else getting "tired" of Nana? 1i625

I know a lot of people will come down on me like a tonne of bricks for saying this, but is anyone getting a bit tired of reading/followng Nana? z3h1o
I enjoyed reading the manga when I first discovered it 2 or 3 years ago, but now it's just turned into a typical soap opera. Everything's moving so slowly and it's like the story's grounded to a stop recently. And while at first I found it refreshing that every character seemed so 'real' with all their flaws and whatnot, it's gotten a bit too much when lately every character seems like a wreck. Sigh, where's Junko when you need her?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that now, each time after I've read a chapter I no longer get a sense of joy or excitement. I just feel frustrated - to the point where I want to slap some of the characters coughNanacough. Yes, I said Nana. I know she's had a bad life and absent parents and has issues with abandonment blah blah blah, but I hate how all the other characters constantly baby her. No wonder it seems like she's gotten worse in the future/present. 🤨
Hopefully the story ends soon, before it degenerates into someting like "Days of Our Lives". Maybe then I'll marathon the remaining chapters. I much rather liked Ai Yazawa's storytelling style in her earlier works, such as "Paradise Kiss" and "Gokinjou Monogatari". To me, her stories work much better when it's infected with some humour.

Is it really that much of a surprise to you?
I read a preview, or the first chapter, or something like that several years ago. My impression was "soap opera train wreck in the making" and not being a fan of either soap operas or train wrecks I didn't read any more than that. From the bits & pieces I've heard/read over the past few years my first impression was right.

Same here.
I wanted to read it since the art was quite good and fresh, but after reading some spoilers and others' comments it seemed to be a waste of time...
The mangaka's probably trying to keep it alive for as long as possible, since it seems to be popular and all...
Money money...

Well, now that the mangaka's completely zapped any sense of joy out of it, I'm quite tired of it too.
Not to say that I'm still not going to read it, but the overdose of angst is exhausting. That said, no other manga has made me feel so ionate about the characters before and that's partly why it's so frustrating sometimes.

The anime is a very good adaptation. Fun to watch. I suggest watching it and you don't necessarily have to read the rest of the manga because it basically has nothing.

I got into Nana because I loved the anime and wanted more. The manga is giving me more and it's not boring or poor quality so i'm happy that it's still around.
One question though. You say that the story has grounded to a halt, but what is the story of Nana? I always thought it was like a slice of life about two girls, one the wife of a rock star and the other a rock star herself. Outside of the characters dying or not being in the manga any more, how does slice of life grind to a halt?

Well, i quit reading 1-2 chapters ago sorta waiting for a pace to pick up..
I understand how the things r evolving but the pace is so slow and Ren's death has lingered for eons! They also stopped the futurescope thing I guess which is a bummer...

Yeah, I think the story has got down and is still getting down... I really can't see anything positive and worthy in this manga. It's only "desire... desire... desire..." and "why life is so unfair?". Ahh... what a waste of time...

Well I've read like a few chapters and...it's just way too weird...I didn't like it -.-
and it's too longer! :/
she's using the fame of the manga...I won't read it because it's way too much drama and at first I liked the 'hey nana do you ...?' but then UGH!

I think with chapter 84 things are going to be turning around. Yeah, the downer stuff went on a little long, but I think in the end things will be ok 🙂

I gave up reading Nana long time ago. I love it, especially the first volumes, but I can never read it.

Really really tired...I also dropped it...maybe I´ll wait till the end and then read at least the last chapter to know how it ended..
I usually avoid manga where I see "tragedy" but so many ppl recommended it and I did the worst from the worst ~ I picked up this series... 🙁 I just don´t like when everything is so oh, SOOO frustrating...
I read manga because I want to forget everyday life and sufferings, I want to cheer up myself a bit...I don´t want it to make me cry and even more frustrated. And even if everything is ok within my life I also don´t want to spoil my mood with something like this.
Why did this author write this manga, to make us realize that "oh, life is sooo not fair..." Sorry? I think that we already get it!
Blah. I guess I´m ovedoing it...I don´t mind the length, actually, the longer the better for me, I am quite a fast reader, but I think that for some manga their length is the main reason why they are becoming more and more unreadable...like for this one...first 4 or 5 volumes were ok...than it was...worse? But now...it´s so tangled that it cannot be untangled... 🙁

I've never read this manga but it seems like alot of people are nuts about it. The only reason I was interested in Nana was because of Paradise Kiss. I have flipped though it a couple of times and it seems like very long teenage soap opera.

it's true --
I used to enjoy it as well but now it's just so depressing and i just get depressed along with it
it's like nobody in the manga is going to be happy with love or friendship or blah blah
and it's so slow...i heard the manga maker got sick and now there won't be another manga chapter til september
i want to put it down but i'm like hoping maybe it'll get better...-- 🙁
